Slow Tourism, before anything else is a mindset. It is driven by a desire to visit a foreign place where other people live, rather than a tourist attraction.
Usually, in our quest to have this profound experience, we travel to beautiful rural and remote areas. We try to be close to nature and to make and adopt the philosophy of sustainable tourism. The BB King firmly believes that this practice works in the city too! You don’t need to look far. You can equally enjoy a slow vacation and a deep connection with the local culture in the historical city center.
What does a slow vacation look like?
The main principle of slow tourism is slowing down to appreciate the journey step by step, rather than rushing to cross the finish line. To “live” a place as it requires to be experienced: from within.
Slow travel
As slow tourists, we choose slower transportation like the train, bus or bike. We prefer to walk if we can.
Longer stay
If we have the means, we try to stay in the same place longer than one night. We like to take our time to be present in the moment.
Ask the locals
We don’t shy away from asking for directions from someone who knows more. We love to shop small, eat local and avoid tourist traps! Check out our Tips and recommendations page as your friendly neighborhood experts.
We hold this philosophy near and dear to our hearts: since we can appreciate the fair Verona 365 days a year, we would love to share what we love in its most authentic version.
For this reason, we decided to set up a special price for your longer holiday. We make our bikes available for no extra fee and we share all of our wisdom as citizens in the city of love!
